Homecoming Footage

Homecoming always marks fun activities and connections being made during the weekend. I was sent out to capture all the sights and sounds for homecoming this year. Through the eyes of my video camera I ended up capturing many facets of the weekend. Many alumni were gathered on campus for homecoming as well as the big homecoming football game. Drinking at 10 O'clock in the morning on campus was also not a rare sighting, all in celebration for homecoming 2009.
I managed to get some shots of people celebrating and cheering on the Black Bears. My intent wasn't really to go out and get interviews, more so to capture the different aspects of the homecoming weekend. My primary focus was tailgating before the football game Saturday morning. There were undergraduates, graduates and alumni all gathered together in honor of the weekend. All in all I captured some good footage of homecoming 2009.

First Meeting

I attended my first Maine Channel meeting Thursday, and had many first impressions.

The first thing I noticed was the quality of the equipment we have for the station, from the tripods to the switcher to the camera. I had a small rundown given to me on the switcher, as well as how I will export video from my stories.

I have done a little of everything in broadcast, from interning at Channel 7 so I really could handle anything at the Maine Channel. The director would like me to work on stories and one man band it. I like the fact of one man banding it because the reporter is a big part of the story. Between shooting, writing, interviewing and editing it is a big responsibility for me but once the story is completed it is a rewarding experience.

I look forward to working for the Maine channel and am curious as to what stories I will be working on.
